Exciting News to Share!
I’m thrilled to share that I recently passed my Enrolled Agent exams! 🎉 This has been a goal of mine for quite some time, and I’m so proud to have achieved it. While becoming an EA opens the door to representing taxpayers before the IRS, I’ll be continuing to focus exclusively on bookkeeping for now. This side of the business has been so fulfilling—helping entrepreneurs stay organized, confident, and in control of their financials is truly what I love most.
Plan Ahead for Tax Season
Even though I won’t be preparing returns this season, I want to encourage everyone—especially self-employed business owners—to start connecting with a tax preparer now. There continues to be a shortage of CPAs and Enrolled Agents accepting new clients in Albemarle County and the surrounding areas. Finding the right professional early can make all the difference when deadlines approach, so don’t wait until February or March to start your search!
Don’t Forget Your Final Estimated Payment
A quick reminder for my self-employed readers: your final estimated tax payments for both the state and federal governments are due January 15, 2026. It’s easy to lose track of dates as the holidays approach, but staying on top of this payment can help you avoid penalties and surprises come filing season. Mark your calendar, double-check your income for the year, and make sure you’re all squared away before the deadline.
